2008 Valentines GuideLet's face it, Valentine's Day is no holiday, however... with a little advice from the Equipped experts, it can be.  Broken down by how serious your relationship is, our tips we ensure you'll both be counting the days until next February 14th.  Or if you want to go your own way, get some ideas in our Gift Line Up.

Just Dating:

You've gone on a few dates, you dig her but it's not that serious.  This is the Valentines day minefield.  You want to show her you are a thoughtful, romantic guy, but you don't want inadvertently take things to the "next level".   One ill-conceived gift in this stage can spell disaster.

Ruby Red Rose & Lily Bouquet
Ruby Red Rose & Lily Bouquet
Our recipe for success in this stage of the relationship is a flowers & romantic date combo.  This is traditional by nature so it is safe, but the impression you make is all in the execution.  We like the Ruby Red Rose & Lily bouquet from FTD.com for $50.

Have the flowers sent to her work with a little note about how excited you are for your date that night.  She'll love the surprise and the attention she'll get when they are delivered, plus she'll be looking forward to seeing you all day.  The note about you excitement to see her is a perfect way to let her know she is important without having to get into your "Feelings" for her.

Now for the hard part, the date.  We recommend doing something other than the traditional dinner at a nice restaurant.  Try making her dinner, or skip the meal all together and so something fun and memorable.    Take her skating or bring a bottle of wine down to the beach.  We can't nail this one for you, because you really need to know who you are planning for.  Hopefully you do… now try Googling "creative date ideas" look for one that fits her and your relationship.

Just Physical:

When the relationship is all about "No Strings Attached" sex, technically, you don't have to do anything, hence the "No Strings".  Doing nothing however, is not conducive to ensuring the longevity of your "booty call" relationship.  Furthermore, Valentines day, is an opportunity to turn the normally great sex, into mind blowing sex.

Lingerie is a perfect gift for this situation...

Try the Hanky Panky Camisole

Send it to her and explain this is what she should wrap your present in.  Remind her you don't want to have to do too much unwrapping to get the goods.

Married Man:

At this point you have been through so many valentines together you can't count them so being fresh and creative is tough.  To really hit a homerun, surprise her by recreating one of your first dates (preferably a romantic one that went well).  This can be fun and romantic and will bring back that excitement that you felt back when you first met.

If you are lacking the creative juices and feel that might be too hard to pull off, Jewelry is always a safe bet.  It is quick and easy and women love it.
