I have been known to unfairly write off products that are featured on "infomercials" as gimmicks, and I am sorry to say that the Little Giant fell into this category.  Before I used the Little Giant ladder I thought, "a ladder is a ladder, no need for bells and whistles".  Now that I've used the little giant, it is more appropriate to say, "the Little Giant is a ladder and all the rest are rickety, awkward death traps".

All kidding aside, I truly cannot understand why anyone would ever use any ladder that is not a Little Giant.  The Little Giant has several features that no ladder should be without.  First of all, the base of this ladder is extra wide giving it a very sturdy feel.  Furthermore, It can be used straight as an extension ladder or easily folded in half to be used as an A-frame ladder.  In the A frame position, either side can be adjusted independently allowing you to easily position it on a hill or stairs.  Going one step further, each leg is independently adjustable allowing you to position it on uneven ground without having jam a piece of wood under one of the legs. 

This really is 24 ladders in 1, for roughly the same price as a traditional ladder.  With so many features, and at such a low price point, you would think that it may lack in quality, however, this is not the case.  The Little Giant is constructed with Aircraft grade aluminum with many redundant safety features.   Ultimately, this translates into a very sturdy ladder.
